**CONTENT WARNING: Violence, torture, death**

Synopsis

RIP Coven harmony

The coven attends Nan’s funeral and are interrupted by Queenie’s return. She’s magically restored LaLaurie’s head to her body and drags her along with her by a leash. Returning to the school, Queenie feels she has been forgotten already because they’ve given her room to Laveau. She criticizes Cordelia for being so weak and useless that the school is falling apart again, with one witch dead and another missing. Cordelia takes her words to heart and sacrifices her new eyes in an attempt to restore her second sight power, an act Myrtle claims is heroic and done to protect the coven. Myrtle also convinces Zoe to take Kyle and leave the coven to start a new life for themselves somewhere safely away from the likes of Fiona and Madison.

Fiona and Laveau meet with the witch hunting board of directors. The board offers them a 100 year truce, but the witches refuse. The Axeman locks them in and murders the board, except Hank’s dad, who Fiona finishes off herself.

Finally putting that zeal to good use

LaLaurie is disgruntled at again being forced to be the maid for the school. She remembers her passion in her former life and abducts the black gardener, taking him to Spalding’s old room in the attic where she tortures and kills him. Spalding’s ghost appears to her and convinces her that she can end her immortality if she kills Laveau. He gives her a “potion” to take away Laveau’s immortality, but really it’s just Benadryl. When LaLaurie believes Laveau is weakened by the Benadryl, she stabs her, but it doesn’t work. Laveau chases her to the stairs and Spalding knocks Laveau unconscious. He reveals to LaLaurie he knew nothing could kill Laveau, he’s just mad that Fiona is working with her enemy and wants Laveau out of the picture. He advises LaLaurie to bury Laveau so she can’t come back.

The Students

Queenie was able to survive getting shot by a silver bullet, so she feels she’s in the running for supreme after all. Madison was not happy when Zoe and Kyle kicked her out of the relationship because they’ve fallen in love, so Myrtle was probably right to send them away from her.

The Staff

They’ve put a lot of effort into building up Cordelia‘s desperation, which is why she destroyed her new eyes. No one has ever considered her for the next supreme, because she’s been so weak the whole time, but her arc could be paving the way for an underdog surprise supreme.

Could this be the Supreme sacrifice??

To think, all it takes to bring down the witch hunting enterprise is for the two lead witches to join forces. They should have done this ages ago, instead of fighting amongst themselves.

Oh, LaLaurie. I really had hopes she was becoming a better person. I think the real thing that brought her back to her old nature was the fact that everyone was either ignoring her or treating her like dirt. Even Queenie apparently abandoned her attempts at helping her improve and gave her back to the school to be basically a slave again. They probably shouldn’t have trusted their food preparation to someone they know doesn’t want to be here, but that’s beside the point. Maybe LaLaurie was bad through and through and it was only a matter of time before she reverted to past behaviors, but I like to think she had a shot at redemption and squandered it.

I found Spalding’s plan to be stupid. All he had to do was tell LaLaurie at the start that the goal was to knock Laveau out and bury her, and she probably would have gone along with it anyway. She hates Laveau and would be happy to give her the same eternal torture Laveau gave her for nearly two centuries.

Conclusion

With only two episodes left, I’m looking forward to wrapping this season up. There have been aspects recently that have finally given me some enjoyment but as a whole this season has paled in comparison to the last two. Soon we’ll finally end this “next supreme” debate once and for all, maybe even in the next episode.

Score: 6/10
